Nutritious and Tasty Meals produite sur place par des chefs
At Montessori 3-12 School, mealtime is an important part of the day, just like classroom work. It is designed as a continuation of our educational approach: respecting the child’s rhythm, fostering autonomy, encouraging discovery, and enjoying the pleasure of healthy eating.
The quality of meals served to students is a top priority. To ensure this, the school works directly with the iSensi restaurant (part of the ZFV group), located within our building, the Nations Business Center.
Menus are planned weekly through collaboration between the chefs, a nutritionist, and the school to meet the children’s needs while honoring our values: varied, balanced, flavorful dishes tailored to the nutritional requirements of the children.
Meals prepared on-site every morning and served hot
Meals are prepared fresh every morning on-site, in the restaurant’s kitchen. This ensures maximum freshness and optimal quality, using seasonal and local ingredients. At lunchtime, the meals are delivered directly to the classrooms, ready to be enjoyed hot. Children can thus enjoy homemade dishes while benefiting from the conviviality of a shared meal.
Mealtime: an educational moment in the classroom
At Montessori 3-12 School, meals are enjoyed in the classroom, within a familiar and calming environment. Teachers support this moment by ensuring the meal runs smoothly, while also providing genuine nutritional education aligned with the Romand Curriculum Plan (PER). In the Montessori spirit, children are encouraged to develop autonomy, food curiosity, and a sense of responsibility: learning to serve themselves, to taste new foods, and more.
Meals tailored to everyone’s needs
We are committed to accommodating most special diets: particular attention is given to vegetarian options, gluten-free meals, as well as food allergies reported by families.
Meet our chefs!
Behind every meal is the expertise and enthusiasm of our team of chefs, led by Chef Christophe, Chef Loïc, and their colleagues at the iSensi restaurant. Each day, they carefully prepare balanced, flavorful dishes tailored for children, prioritizing fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients. Their dedication and passion help make mealtime a moment of enjoyment, sharing, and well-being for everyone.
This close collaboration between the school and the kitchen team ensures a true continuity between the classroom and mealtime. The chefs know our students, and the children know those who prepare their lunch. This connection goes far beyond the kitchen: sometimes, the children meet the chefs delivering snacks or freshly baked brioche for afternoon snack time. In turn, the children enjoy writing letters to them—to thank them, ask questions, or suggest meal ideas.
These exchanges foster curiosity, cultivate gratitude, and strengthen awareness of those who care for their food. Thanks to this closeness, mealtime becomes a natural extension of school life: a time for sharing, discovery, and appreciation, true to Montessori values.
